I got a bit of "religious spam" the other day. It was from a well-meaning person, trying to stress how God isn't as stressed anymore in our lives. Still...
I, like all of you, received this e-mail, and felt called to respond.
What an excellent idea. I found a bunch of sites to help us with our
prayers... perhaps our school administrators would find them useful.

No, this isn't just some athiest liberal's screed - this is the measured
response of a practicing Christian. I believe that Clarence Darrow said it
well when he stated: "You can only protect your liberties in this world by
protecting the other man's freedom." I would not want my children to say ANY
of the above prayers in school. Personally, I'd like for them to say the
Hail Mary, which many a Protestant
would consider as heretical as (if not worse than) all
the ones above. So I respect that, and instruct my children to pray in public
the way that Christ taught us:
MAT 6:5-6 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are:
for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the
streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have
their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when
thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father
which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
If we all followed this command of Christ, there would be no need of the late
Ms. O'Hare and her lawsuit, and our faith would not be mocked by those we would
force it upon.
I hope this finds you all well, and that you are having a blessed Easter
season.
