Reactive Attachment Disorder:Living and Learning with the Hurt ChildReactive Attachment Disorder, or RAD, is a complex mental disorder that manifests in children. It can be extremely difficult to cope with or treat; children with RAD are typically not helped by conventional therapies or child-rearing strategies.The successful treatment of children with this disorder requires that all who regularly interact with the child are aware of the symptoms of this disorder, of the difficulties the behaviors can cause, and some quick strategies to successfully interact with the child in a way that supports the parents and the rest of the treatment team.
