You may have seen it - the picture that supposedly shows John Kerry standing next to Jane Fonda on a stage during the Vietnam protests. I've gotten it as well - and here's my response: In the interest of honesty - I don't care whether or not you like John Kerry, just for honesty's sake - please pass this letter as far and wide as you passed the other one. Also, check out www.factcheck.org - they seem pretty committed to uncovering ALL deception (as I write this, the current article is criticizing the Kerry campaign). At any rate - You have been duped. The picture proportedly of Kerry and Fonda is a photoshop - a fake, as shown at snopes.com. It is exactly as real as this Nation cover from 3/22, except they meant their photoshopping as a parody of this nasty hoax. Does it really matter? What about questioning his military service? When I was in the military, SOP was to do your job first - THEN bitch about it. Seems to me that's what Kerry did, as opposed to hiding out in the NG, then not even bothering to show up. On the other hand, this lists out over 200 Bush administration lies about Iraq. "WMD" [1] is this generations' Gulf of Tonkin. As a closing thought, I would rather see that lying AWOL war-profiteering troop- disrespecting (y'know, not showing up for a SINGLE FREAKING FUNERAL is just a tish tacky - but I suppose that spending more time on vacation than any other president doesn't leave time for things like that) schmuck re-elected than have anyone else die over there. Let me say that again: If it meant that it would end the violence, I'd vote for George W. Bush. Only he's not moved to end it. Instead he said: "Bring it on." Over seven hundred dead, over three thousand casualties, and STILL not a single damned WMD. The math is pretty simple to me.
